Very cute idea. You have some issues with construction and fit, especially in the shorts.  I wish they would make a Gaga doll too, but she has said no to every company who has asked her.  Nice job.

Not a bad start, but I get more of a feeling of female wrestler than avant gard couture.  The sheer top is a little risqué, even for Gaga.  But the garment is cleanly made.

Eyelashes were a great touch- but otherwise really lacked the LG flair for the unusual or unexpected particularly in accessories. The choice of velour made the bottoms look bulky.

We see and appreciate the sense of humor that you were going for, but it seems to not be as imaginative as Gaga would be….. looks more “roller skating on Venice Beach” than Gaga. Not using the bulky pink fabric and maybe going for all lace might have helped.  I don’t understand the belt w/knife or the plain boots.

I love that you worked with wire mesh for this challenge.  You had a good idea.  The construction is a bit rough, I am sure the wire mesh is not that easy to work with. I would have liked to have seen more accessories.  Nice job.

Definitely avant gard. The boots are creative, but the garment itself looks unfinished to me, especially from the back and in the hem of the skirt.

Overall fit was not very good-looks loose and bulky. I would not have chosen velour to line the leather bodice since it impedes the leather from fitting close to the body and giving it that body sculpted look. However, I did like that you tried to make the boots yourself

Your body suit looks nice on the doll, but is a bit of a simple project. I do like the fashion, but it relies heavily on manufactured accessories.  I am not a fan of the ribbon belt, it is out of scale, and the fashion would have looked better without it. Nice job, I just wish you had made some of your accessories.

I found it hard to judge the construction of this ensemble because there is so much going on.  There are parts that work.  I like the headdress and, in theory, the jumpsuit, but I am not crazy about the car wash belt and furry shoulders.  The overall feeling I get is one of confusion.

A really lovely design in general.  Gaga is all about some nude and some lace!  The accessories were well chosen. We understand you were trying to bring in some more red, but the belt looks cheap and really works against the overall design. Remove the belt and the design works much better.  Would have loved some embellishments on the boots.  Overall great job!

Your fashion is cute, and fits the challenge ok.  I was not excited about it after reading your description. It feels more like something from “The Hunger Games” than for Lady Gaga.  Your construction is ok, but nothing is lined. Not bad for not liking the challenge.

To me, this is more Xena Warrior Princess or Galaxy princess than Gaga…the bow and arrow doesn’t make sense to me in this context.  The chain is too heavy for this scale.

I am glad you did a Google search and challenged yourself but the outfit lacks originality and LG’s aesthetic for the unexpected; the bow and arrow did not help in this aspect and looked out-of-place.

We don’t really see Gaga here.  The bow and arrow are out of left field, and basically we’re left with a bra, shorts, and a cape.  Gaga loves wearing barely anything, so we get where you’re coming from, but seems more “warrior princess” from an anime.  Not AG enough. Construction seems neat and fairly clean.

I love it this fashion is fun and feels fresh.  I can see Gaga wearing this.  And only Gaga would carry an octopus snack in her clear bag to a party!  You did listen to us and worked on your finishing and it looks great!  It could have used lining on the body of the dress, otherwise it looked great inside!  I love the shape of the hips of the dress and the sleeves balanced out the shape.  I love the accessories too!  You had me at the octopus in the bag! LOL…

Much better finishing, well done.  Creative use of materials and interesting silhouette.  Most women wouldn’t want their hips accentuated, but Gaga isn’t most women, I suppose.  A little too much going on, in my opinion, but I can see her wearing something like this, at least in parts.

Wonderful fashion.  I like the mix of traditional elements with the Avant Garde.  The color pallet helps blend everything to perfection.  The use of the saran hair as fringe was very smart, and pulled the horse element to the next level.  I could see Gaga wearing this, you made the perfect little monster doll!

I like this fashion, and it does remind me of something Gaga would wear. The silhouette is a bit traditional, but the fabrics pull it into the Avant Garde area. I am glad that the contest has pushed you to try new things!  If you want to learn to make shoes or boots, do some searches, there are several really good blogs out there where they show step by step how they make things. Creative and obviously took lots of work; however I think that although the roses are very pretty, for this challenge they detracted from the edgy, and therefore the more LG and avant garde feeling the dress could have had.

Your lighting in the photographs dulls down your color pallet; better lighting would have shown off this fashion much better.  I do like this fashion.  I like the use of the bondage elements in the fashion, it is very runway, and very much something Gaga would wear. Very 80s, which is experiencing a comeback right now.  I think the instincts are very good and there are many elements that I really like, but I am not sure that I love it all together.  I like the pop of colors, but there are a lot of colors and that gets confusing to the eye.

Nice job on the body suit & choker construction but challenge was to reflect LG’s aesthetic of taking the standard, i.e.: the expected, and presenting it in an unexpected way. You sort of did that with the bolero/straight jacket; however the entire design really did resemble S&M gear and not Lady Gaga or avant garde fashion.

I like this fashion, but Lady Gaga is known for her crazy hairstyles/wigs. I would have liked it better with hair. My main comment is that LG uses her hair & hair in general as an accessory and your doll had no hair. Overall the design was lacking those extra details which would have helped make it stand-out.

Sort of on the fence with this one—the overall impression is that it’s lovely.  The shoes are fun.         I can definitely see Gaga wearing this.  But in essence it’s a swimsuit and some straps….the glasses look sort of inexpensive and don’t really contribute to the look.

Not really very Avant Guard.  I understand that she’s supposed to be an actual bouquet, but the dress feels like an afterthought.  It looks like just a chunk of fabric wrapped and tied with ribbon.  The roses are lovely (We can’t believe you made all of those!) but in general the design doesn’t meet the challenge.

I like the majority of this fashion. The boots are wonderful! I do like the bubble wrap play suit.  I am not sold on the tissue paper bundle on her head, it is over scale and looks like a wadded up tissue paper stuck to her head. I have seen doll fashions made with tea bags in previous challenges.  Here the bags don’t seem to add to the fashion, I wish there was more of a use to them, like epaulets or a bustle or even used as a hand bag. Otherwise I think this is very fun and I can tell you had fun with this challenge.  Good job!

Hmmm….interesting.  The unconventional, re-purposed materials are certainly an unusual choice, and I appreciate that.  The overall look is not entirely successful, however.  It is a little too crafty for this challenge.  Again, I don’t see much construction here and I expect more from the Professional category.

I liked the idea of using the bubble wrap as it creates an intriguing space-age look LG is often seen in; however, the tea bags and hat really detracted from the overall aesthetic. Also, instead of the hat, an outrageous/creative hair style and/or some interesting eye wear (such as bubble wrap bubble glasses) would have given your design more of the LG touch it really needed to excel in the challenge. Good try!

We love the idea of using bubble wrap—in general the silhouette is strong and fun, but the rest of the design falls short.  The tea bags are unwieldy and not needed—they over complicate the look (and would be HUGE in real life) and the sequins add nothing to the design.  Would have been really cute if it had just been the boots, playsuit, and maybe a more structured hat.

I love this dress, it is very pretty.  The silhouette is very traditional, and while being runway ready is a bit tame for Lady Gaga.  I could see her wearing this with other accessories, and possibly a huge silver mask or a more edgy head dress.  I think this doesn’t have the edge that is required for Lady Gaga.

As always with this designer, a beautiful ensemble, but my impression is one of a gorgeous Degas ballerina.  I don’t consider this Avant Gard and I don’t think we would ever see Lady Gaga wearing such an exquisite design.  So, in spite of the fact that this is both beautiful and beautifully made, I don’t think this fulfills the challenge requirements.

Really beautiful—beautifully made.  Almost too pretty to be AG.  Looks like a beautiful theatrical costume from a ballet.  Needed a slightly harder edge—maybe patent lacings instead of ribbons? Different (less ladylike) styling would have helped the design.
