Challenge Two

My dolls all LOVE boots and I knew right away that boots would be the inspiration for this challenge. I wanted a new silhouette using a bubble skirt. To create this new look I formed the skirt top into boxed pleats falling from the fitted empire bodice producing a narrow shape at top and increasing into a full bottom below the knees exposing the ruffle flounce, which is attached to the slip. A bohemian feeling emerges when paired with the inspiration boots. Narrow lime green silk stripe was used for the dress. The bottom flounce and slip as well as the attached band at the empire waist is made of silk chiffon. A tattered matching flower is attached asymmetrically at a gathered point on to the band.
The model used is Tonner’s Monica in a red wig.

Challenge Four
For this challenge my muse is Tonner’s Antoinette Cameo Mannequin that has been repainted by Dot Festeu of ‘Doll Enchantments”.
This silken fashion fusion of Madame Butterfly/Samurai Warrior cuts through tradition to bring a new design to the streets of Tokyo. This fashion has a young modern Japanese Avante Guard flavor and represents the NEW Japan. Embroidered butterflies on silk sleeves are attaché with lace up ribbons to the double-layered bodice. The bodice has an attached cascading pleat peplum, topped off with a simple Obi. These fashion elements are paired with a casual comfortable and elegant pair of striped pants with a slouchy full hem.. A colorful dreadlock wig is created from assorted silken fibers that enhance the butterfly headdress and a playful and youthful way.

Challenge Five
Red carpet fashion means glamour and unique styling. With this in mind my red carpet fashion was created with a solid green silk drop waist bodice and a graphic print silk chiffon skirt. Unique design details on the bodice, such as a double silk swirl appliqué that wraps over one shoulder set this gown apart from the rest. Details also include asymmetric double banding in matching black and purple at the sweetheart neckline and at the bottom of the bodice. Accented in seed beads the swirl appliqués mimic the distinctive fluid graphic patterns in the skirt, finished with multiple gores that create a flowing full hemline and a slight train in the back.
The brand new Ellowyne “Wigged Out Two” is my model.

Challenge Six
For this challenge I knew immediately what fabric I would use as an inspiration. A white embroidered bordered lace I had stashed away just screamed Audrey to me and I knew it had to feature predominately.
I wanted to create a simple silhouette that would show off the detail of the embroidery lace as an over skirt with dirndl styling. the basic dress is a black silk sheath with a shirtwaist bodice, and a knee length pencil skirt with a kick pleat. The bodice is detailed with a bias cut boat collar and a plain leather belt accents the waist line.
Finishing off the outfit is a pair of contemporary b/w printed mule shoes and nothing could be more Audrey than a simple strand of pearls and a big picture hat.
